Mission Statement

As a reflection of Gods love, and in partnership with low-income families and the community, Harford Habitat for Humanity seeks to create homeownership opportunities by building, renovating, and repairing homes.

Home Ownership Opportunities

Homes sold to partner families with 0% interest mortgage

2 % down payment required

250 hours of sweat equity per applicant

EHO- equal housing opportunity

2 mortgages held and signed separately

The first mortgage amount will represent the total construction

cost of the home plus a portion of associated land costs.

The mortgage amount will vary based on the partner family's financial status

and Harford Habitat's qualification guidelines.

Family Selection Process

Eligibility requirements:

Need- substandard, difficult or dangerous living conditions

Ability to pay- income levels set by HUD for low income

Willingness to partner families agree to sweat equity and attendance at home finance and maintenance classes

Residency applicants must live in Harford, Baltimore or Cecil County for one year prior to application;

legal, permanent residents or US citizens
